On-Screen Signup
In order to deliver the best possible user experience for IceTV on a TV Recorder it is important to ensure that the user signup process is clear and concise.
While we do not mandate any particular signup process there are certain pieces of information that must be provided by the user in order to authenticate existing users and cater for new users.
The screens following represent a reference implementation and should form a reasonable template for implementing a signup process on your own application. This reference process collects the minimum required information, you are free to combine stages or add additional ones if required as long as all the information is captured.
User Type
There are minor differences between new users and existing users so the first stage in the process is to determine the type of user we are dealing with.
Once we know which type of user we can launch into the appropriate signup workflow.
